WE BELIEVE IN..
THE POWER OF INCLUSIVE CULTURES TO DRIVE BUSINESS SUCCESS
Multiple studies have shown that inclusive and diverse organisations perform better, are more productive and develop more innovative solutions due to diversity of thought in decision-making.

We help your organisation to harness the power of multiple viewpoints to drive more successful business outcomes.
DIVERSITY & INCLUSION WORK THAT GOES BEYOND "TICKING A BOX"
We’re passionate about the power of organisations to improve people's lives by creating more inclusive cultures. We work with businesses to create strategies that effect real change so that work becomes a positive experience for more people.
After all, your colleagues, current and future, want to feel that they belong somewhere they can fulfil their potential and be themselves.
BESPOKE, ACHIEVABLE SOLUTIONS THAT DRIVE REAL CULTURAL CHANGE
To create more inclusive cultures, we need to rethink how we interact with each other every single day. There are hundreds of things that can help to drive diversity & inclusion. But what are the right things for your organisation?
At Dermody, our approach is practical and data-driven. We work with businesses to enhance what they’re already doing so that D&I becomes a natural part of how they operate every day.
“Diversity is being invited to the party;
inclusion is being asked to dance”

TWO DECADES OF EXPERIENCE AT WORK FOR IRISH BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY
Andrea has worked with organisations across a wide range of industries—including financial services, technology, utilities and construction—to implement successful and sustainable diversity & inclusion strategies.
A RESPECTED VOICE ON D&I MATTERS FOR IRISH INDUSTRY
Most recently, Andrea has been appointed as the Programme Director of Balance for Better Business, an independent business-led Review Group established by the government to improve gender balance in senior leadership in Ireland.
Andrea has also been involved in the development of the project toolkit for “The Level Project”, Enterprise Ireland's gender balance initiative to increase the number of women in leadership and senior management positions in Irish SMEs.
As the Deputy Chair of the financial services sub-committee of the 30% Club in Ireland, Andrea led their pivotal gender research project, “Making the Change Count”. And, as a founding member of the steering committee for Outstanding in Ireland, at its inception in 2017, she has helped to drive LGBT+ inclusion across Irish industry.

Acting as a senior consultant with DCU Centre of Excellence for D&I, Andrea designed a strategy for the Year of Inclusion in Aviation, 2020, collaborating with the Advisory Committee of leading aviation industry representatives.

Other recent industry contributions include an Adjunct Faculty position at DCU Business School, where she has worked with Dr. Melrona Kirrane to develop and deliver a pivotal career changing experience for women at the mid-point of their careers. This aligns with Andrea’s view that to change cultures to be more inclusive, organisational norms need to be adjusted and the career skills of diverse talent should be developed.
Andrea is recognised as a valued speaker and panellist for firms across financial services, technology, semi-state and public sectors, including an address at the Women in Finance conference in Dublin in 2019 and more recently at the University College Dublin Women in Leadership conference 2022.
A UNIQUELY INTERNATIONAL VIEWPOINT
Andrea’s career started in New York, working in a financial services technical position. On her move back to Ireland, Andrea transitioned into a training role, igniting her passion for human resources. Gaining extensive experience in talent management, as well as learning and development, a move into diversity & inclusion was a natural progression.
Most recently, Andrea led diversity & inclusion for State Street in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Andrea took her international experience in creating more inclusive cultures and founded Dermody, a “one-stop-shop” D&I advisory and consultancy in 2019. Since then, she has gone on to support multiple organisations with their D&I initiatives, as well as becoming a leading Irish industry diversity & inclusion contributor.
Andrea holds a Batchelor of Arts in History and Economics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Studies from University College Dublin, as well as a Masters in Human Resource Development from Sheffield Hallam University. She is a qualified Executive Coach and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
